Zeminar is a novel new online learning platform that allows its learners to experience seminar-style education online. Zeminar is a form of higher learning.

Traditionally only graduate / postgraduate-level university students, such as those earning masters and doctoral degrees, benefited from small seminars based on university campuses. Now Zeminar is bringing this learning opportunity to a wider audience. Our online students will be professionals, such as managers and executives, career advancers, career changers, and other adults who wish to expand their intellectual capacity and analytical capabilities, and exercise their ability to apply new knowledge to their businesses, governments, nonprofit institutions and governments. We aim to imbue our learners with Zeminar knowledge so that they may be more innovative, analytical, thoughtful, sensitive, understanding, problem-solving and data-driven decision makers. At the same time, our mission is to develop our Zeminar learners into better leaders who will be able to see the forest through the trees.

Different than most online educational offerings, Zeminar believes that there is value in providing learners with insights and know-how into research as well. We empower learners to understand what research is, what methods are used to conduct it, how its compiled, analyzed and synthesized, and what the process is of determining conclusions. Our pedagogy enables learners to learn about research itself, get inside the researcher’s mind, and look at data and results in new ways. Through exercising our learner’s intellect with research papers and cases, and discussing the research upon which they are based, learners will gain insight into the research process. We believe that learners with such capabilities and understanding of research itself are much needed in today’s organizations.

On the other side, we provide and opportunity for the dissemination of academic research.  Research professors, postdoctoral researchers, and others who have published papers and cases will find a channel for dissemination and an audience who is interested and may benefit from their hard work and research outcomes. Furthermore, our audience is engaged, and our format interactive, providing a forum for feedback, questions, commentary, discussion and discourse.

Zeminar’s unique short courses are designed to be delivered with over two, three- or four-week periods. Each Zeminar will be engaged with between six and fifteen hours by the learner. Most Zeminars will be grouped together within a “Zeminar Zeries” where a common theme is explored.

Zeminars will be moderated by online instructors who will facilitate discussions, highlight key learning outcomes, share additional resources, and provide feedback to learners as well. Most Zeminars will entail not only discussion, but also an Application Proposal or Opportunity Assessment, where constructs developed will be applied to real world challenges or opportunities.
